Ink Lake State Park Review

Our blog was right! Inks Lake State Park is a great destination for your next family Texas RV vacation. My wife and I headed there this last weekend and we loved it. If  you live near Austin, TX,  you can visit the scenic Texas state park and still have fuel in the tank for the coming work week. The campground is clean and has hundreds of great spots that are lakeside or tucked into the woods. It seems to be a very family friendly Texas campground. There are full hook-ups available and primitive campsites as well. Be sure and check out Devil's Backbone, the views there are amazing. Inks Lake Texas State Park

If it wasn't for the worst depression in the history of the country we might not have a Inks Lake State Park. Back in the early 1930's the Civilian Conservation Corps,  created to stimulate the economy, began creating a chain of lakes in Central Texas with a series of impoundments along the Colorado River. Nearby Lake Buchanan was also part of the CCC's work, as are all of the highland lakes.  Inks Lake State Park is located about 60 miles Northwest of Austin, Texas and offers excellent water activities and amazing views. It's a wonderful park to go fishing, rent canoes, and even play golf. Longhorn Caverns is only a few miles away from the park and is a great activity for the family to enjoy.
